Thanksgiving Day Celebration/Archbishop Visit 2025
On Thursday 19th June 2025, Our Lady of Good Counsel S.S.S Gayaza joyfully celebrated its annual Thanksgiving Day/Archbishop’s Visit, a vibrant and memorable occasion filled with gratitude, prayer, and celebration. The event was graced by His Grace Paul Ssemwogerere, the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, who was the main celebrant of the day.
The day began with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass, during which a number of students received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist, Confirmation and Final Commitment, a significant spiritual milestone in their faith journey. The celebrant encouraged the students to remain rooted in Christian values and become ambassadors of peace and service in their communities.
After the Mass, the atmosphere turned festive as the school recognized outstanding contributions from students and s teachers. Gifts and awards were presented as a token of appreciation to students who excelled academically, and past and present dedicated members of staff for their commitment and hard work
The head teacher, Mrs. Agnes Ssebayigga, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who made the day a success. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of community, faith, and collaboration in nurturing the holistic development of learners.
The celebration concluded with a lively entertainment session, including songs, dances, and drama performances by students—leaving everyone in high spirits and thankful for the blessings of the year.
